Three new colours - Using organic dyes, this new range gives wider choice when selecting colour schemes for the eco-chic bedroom, no longer restricting ethical consumers to white or neutral schemes.
The three colours available are: Golden Moss (above) - soft green with a shimmer of gold when the light catches on the ripples of the fabric. Burgundy - deep red, sumptuous and sensual. Espresso - a rich chocolatey brown | |

 | Organic cotton - With cotton produced without the use of poisonous pesticides or chemicals you can be assured that no toxic chemicals are touching the skin as you sleep - for beautiful skin. The cotton is certified 100% organic by SKAL.
Fairly traded - Sleep soundly knowing the benefit the bedlinen brings to the communities who produce it. Made in India, this luxury organic cotton bedding is all fairly traded. Mill workers are all offered private healthcare, a profit sharing scheme is in place for cotton farmers and the bedding factory has excellent working conditions.
Attention to sustainable detail - The duvet cover closes with a fold over panel, fastened with coconut shell button. The shells are a by-product of the food industry and would otherwise be disposed of.

Technical information:
Thread count refers to the number of threads in one square inch of fabric. A higher count means a softer and stronger fabric and a finer quality. Counts for organic cotton usually range from 128 to 325. - Our sateen bedding has a thread count of 250. This is a very high quality weave for organic cotton. (For comparison, muslin is a simple weave with a thread count of around 150; percale is a closely woven cotton fabric with a thread count of 180 or higher)
Our organic cotton is certified 100% organic by SKAL of Holland, a Dutch organic certifying body similar to the Soil Association in the UK. - Organic growing offers many benefits: improved soil fertility; decreased costs and increased revenue; less water is needed as organic methods help retain moisture in the soil and promote porosity and the food crops produced alongside the cotton are healthier as they do not come into contact with industrial agricultural chemicals. - There is also some evidence to suggest that organic growing benefits the development of children living on and around the farms. (According to Greenpeace, children reared on organic farms have faster mental development than those reared on conventional farms.) - Conventionally grown cotton can retain traces of chemicals, so allergy sufferers prefer organic cotton bedding, as it does not irritate skin conditions. Environmentalists argue that organically grown cotton is the best way to safeguard health, our environment and the cotton crop. The whole production process is certified by SKAL including the dyes used and all the sizing and pre-shrinking processes.
Fairly traded The producer of the bed linen is a fair trade partner and started the first organic cotton project in central India in 1993. Their employees work in good conditions and are paid above the market rate, as well as receiving medical cover for themselves and their families. The farmers are pre-financed, receive premium rates and have the security of a commitment to purchase all their production for the next three years.
