Using a normal bulb may burn the felt. The lampshade is for use as a shade and passes all the fire safety standards for use with a low energy bulb. The design allows for it to sit over the fixing for the bulb so it doesn’t need an attachment to the ceiling.
We recommend using an energy saving light bulb - either a 20 watt (equivalent to 100 watt regular bulb) or a 12 watt (equivalent to 60 watt regular bulb).
