Designer Wallpapers for Kids (at heart)

Designers Mandy Coliss and David Quinton in 2006 set up their wallpaper company after their daughter Daisy was born. They had spent much of their careers till then designing for children (they met at kid's toy company Hasbro, |

where Mandy was a toy manager working on the design and graphics for toys and games like Monopoly and Teletubbies, and David was a 3D structural packaging design manager).
Over the years they had come to realise that there were very few design-led interior products available for children, and that they didn't want their daughter's bedroom to be filled with licensed products and imagery.
In other words they wanted to let her (and their) imagination(s) run wild! "Our aim is to design beautiful and inspirational products to create rooms children will love and always remember," says Coliss. |  |

 | Their inspiration usually comes from nature and accordingly 'green' and 'sky blue' are some of Mandy's key colours. "They are so uplifting and invigorating," she says.
The eco-friendly aspect was a natural consequence of becoming parents. "It really focuses you into thinking in a different, more responsible way," says Mandy. Designing for children is so much fun. "You can be abstract and crazy - anything is possible," Mandy says. The bold colours are also very important. "Children love to surround themselves with it and it's positively mood-enhancing. |

Although initially they painted their large-scale contemporary designs directly on client's walls, they slowly evolved to produce wall coverings. This allowed them to achieve complex layers of details, colour, pattern and scale, and was a lot faster too! As well as wallpapers, they also design wall scenes in which four panels create one scene (with no repeats).
